Hello everyone, my name is Olman Sandoval, and I am a math teacher at Milwaukie High School, Milwaukie, Oregon. Currently, I teach Algebra Integration and Geometry. I am originally from Honduras--a Central American country. I earned in my country a bachelors degree in industrial engineering and almost finish a bachelors degree in secondary mathematics. I worked in several areas in my country, but the most impacting experience was when I taught math and physics in a secondary high school. I developed a strong connection with educational settings. I moved to the U.S. in 2008 with my beautiful and amazing wife. She is a U.S. born and raised. I met her when she was working for Peace Corps in the little town where I was born. We got married in my country, and when she finished her service we moved to the U.S. When I came to this country, I was amazed of all the technological advances, the nature wonders, and the culture of the people living here. There are many differences between my Honduran culture and the American culture. However, I consider myself an open-minded person easy to adapt and accommodate to every situation. I started taking English courses at community colleges, and then I transfered to Portland State University to earn a masters degree in secondary teaching with an endorsement in math. I love math since I can remember, but soccer is my first passion. The picture above was taken in one of the most amazing places that I have ever been--the first Mayan city at Copan Ruinas, Honduras.
